for a long time now the UK insurance industry has been making massive profits at the expense of the public, and now through various means have convinced the government that they should cap Personal Injury claims. They say that premiums have continued to rise because of all the fraudulent claim, and whilst there are a number of fraudulent claims, this has been shown to be inaccurate.

Now you may think this is just the legal sector fighting the insurance sector, who seem to have the governments backing for some reason, but I would suggest otherwise. I would suggest that this, like the lack of funding to the NHS and our emergency services, is more evidence that the UK Government treat the public as cattle/consumers, or the Proles as Orwell called us. The more of these issues the government creates with the help of these industries (whom often contribute to the political campaigns) the more likely the public will focus on these issues rather than THE issue, which is the government and their attitude towards the public.
Here is another example on the back of this, where the Uk Government are cutting legal aid ... so legal assistance will not be available to the poor
