So once again it's the battle of the Peugeots vs Audis.

Davidson in one of the Peugeots this year, plenty of ex F1 drivers to keep an eye on up and down the field. Am looking forward to seeing it unfold as we get closer to race day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Wasn't much of a battle for pole was it. Peugeot thoroughly trounced Audi...

Apparently it was wet this morning. Could play into the hands of Audi a bit more.

Action packed already. Mcnish tried to pass the privateer Peugeot but no luck, but very fast pace already. The Mansell car has already crashed into the barriers just 15 mins in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Safety Car out.

Well Nigel has been taken out of the car and looks like he's off to hospital, hope he'll be okies. Reports he suffered a puncture. How cruel, you wait a whole year to compete and the dream is over before it's barely started.

Puncture for Peugeot number 3. Going to lose lots of time.

Now going to lose even more time, been wheeled into the garage, could be a suspenion issue. Good for Audi.

Poor Bourdais, looks gutted.

They reckon the gravel at Le Mans has lots of sharp flinty bits (which seems a bit daft). Maybe it was that.

So it basically looks like it suffered a front suspension problem and not going to be able to fix it. One less rival for Audi now.

Main Audi was involved in a collision with a BMW and has lot several laps on the leader. Looking good for Peugeot.

So Peugeot number 1 down in 7th now and 4 laps behind, such a shame. However the number 2 Peugeot leads, the all French lineup, so Peugeot will be happy at least they're leading but seriously can't afford anymore issues, it's slowly playing into Audi's hands despite being slower.

Fairly static now, Peugeot 1 catching the Audi ahead like mad, until just now it collided with another car start of the lap into the gravel trap, in the hands of Davidson.

Yep, can't believe how Peugeot have thrown this one away. Oreca Pug has issues witgh the driveshaft during the night, had to repair that, lost 15 mins and several laps.

Then dramatically about 2 hours ago, the leading Peugeot, the number 2, caught fire after a stop, and turned out the turbo had blown and was out. Montagny simply gutted.

Number 1 Pug the only thing thats keeping this race interesting, Davidson has been putting in some absolutely sensational pace, he's about a lap and a half off the lead but he's going quickly. So much so when lapping backmarkers again he caught a Corvette by surprise in the Porsche kurves and the American car crashed backwards into the barriers as Ant forced his way by, certainly not making himself popular with these smaller cars tonight lol.

Less than 6 hours left, Audi once again showing that relability absolutely rewards you, Peugeot not giving up but need a bit of luck to go their way again.

Race getting interesting, Davidson has now caught Audi number 8. But I think has to pit in a few minutes, but Davidson's pace has been impressive.

Edit, not for position for now unlapped himself. Still a chance for Peugeot, but still no issues for Audi.

Ohh an off for the number 8 Audi midway through the lap, just as Wurz in the Peugeot sets the fastest lap of the race. Game on for 2nd!

Nose replace for the Audi, along with tyres changed and fuel top up. Peugeot is now less than 10 seconds by 2nd place Audi, now they just gotta find a way by (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Great move by Wurz into 2nd, but back in the pits for more fuel. Not far off now from unlapping themselves.
